whenever i create a track i use a lot reverb DX FX, almost on every track. but when i use about 16 tracks this is not very performance friendly, my computer cannot play the track without clicks and breaks. (its a 1GHZ, 256MB RAM) is there a way to assign the same dx plug instance to multiple tracks? |

How about setup a FX BUS or another BUS for similar sounds and add the effect to the BUS then send your tracks through the BUS. Kai Wen |

hm well this worx but i don't have the abillity then to set volume control on the bus for each track separately, which i usually do so. the volume slider on the track itself is not very exact and i don't have the peak meter option... ;-/ |

I agree with KaiWen on sending to an FX bus. Sixteen separate instances of reverb can bring down a 1GHz machine to the point of breaking up, especially if they're fairly long reverbs, or CPU-intensive algorithms--you can check out how hungry a plug-in is by using CPU HAWG available from http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/CPU_HAWG_3.htm. ACID Pro 3.0 gives you full control over the send levels from any track to any bus you create. If you need to have separate send levels from the FX bus (per track) to it's output, then maybe a compromising of creating 2 or 3 FX busses with separate reverb return levels may work for you. If that doesn't work for you, then stick with the reverbs as Track FX, and try to use low-CPU settings, or optimize your PC a bit more, if possible. If you hold down the Ctrl button or pull the pane between the Track View and the Track List to the right, you'll be able to get more precise control over the volume slider, FWIW. Best, Joel |
