Subject:Sound Forge 11 vs 10?

I have just jumped from SF 4.5 and my last v8 to v10 and love the improvements!

The sliding events around etc is a welcome addition as well as multi channel.

I am just trying to find now the differences before I upgrade from 10 to 11?
Obviously the big jump for me is to upgrade XP (on a studio only DAW machine no internet) to W7 if I want to move up to 11. So its a double upgrade in essence!

So it looks like SF11 has more multi-channel tracks (32?)
Live Waveform recording
Input fx, so presumably put all your fx on THEN record your source (effected)?

Anything else that stands out in Sf11?

From the screenshots, all I can see is the two waveform views rather like the Mac version of SF?
Please tell me SF11 PC hasn't upgraded to look like this too?
Can you still have scattered files on the workspace and drag drop ontop of each other like before?

Thanks

I'm not familiar w/ SF Mac.
IMO, SCS made a counter-intuitive mess of the 'record' and 'plug-in chainer' GUI on SF11. Aside from that, there are few changes from 9-11, except for event support, more bungled plug-ins and utilities on each subsequent version.
Check out the different version features to see what appeals to you. I can't see a large channel count (more than 8 ch.s for 7:1) very useful. It ain't a multi-track recorder/mixer.

I gave Version 11 to my wife and stuck with 10. I can't remember why. Perhaps because V11 doesn't have an option to do remote record?

Interesting so it looks like sticking with v10 for now, plus there seems to be speculation that they'll never be a v12?

That "speculation" was an entirely uneducated guess of no evidence whatsoever loosely based on the completely rumored thread about "no Vegas 14?". I wouldn't pay any attention to it.
