VP12 export to Premiere crashes Premiere

Hi everyone --

I'm a Vegas Pro 12 user on Windows 7 64-bit and I have a few videos of some local bands that I shot and need to export to Adobe Premiere for someone else to edit. The problem is that when I choose the Export to Premiere option and then try to open the file in Premiere Pro CC, Premiere crashes immediately. This is happening even if I start Vegas up from scratch and drag a single clip to the timeline (saying YES when it asks to use those project settings), and then save and export just that. I have tried this with a clip from multiple cameras - a Canon DSLR, my good 'ol Canon XH-A1, and even a GoPro Hero 3+, all with the same result. I have even tried it with a new Vegas Pro project that contained only one single stereo WAV file and no video.

Is anyone else trying to export from Vegas Pro 12 to Premiere Pro CC? It seems to me even the simplest project is crashing Premiere, so that would point to a bug in Vegas Export.

Just FYI - When I export, Vegas gives me the following message:

Deinterlace method ignored.
Motion blur type ignored.
Composite mode for track 1 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:00;00 in track 1 ignored.
Effects for track 2 ignored.
Loop switch for event at 00:00:00;00 in track 2 ignored.

And when Premiere crashes, the "Problem Details", are as follows:

Same here...
Thought it was me or my system since I run on a MacPro via bootcamp. Feel better now.... no wait, actually I don't.

Actually, that's an interesting coincidence, because I'm on a MacBook Pro running Windows 7 / Bootcamp.

Is there anyone out there on non-Apple hardware experiencing this problem? To be perfectly honest, I can't see how that would matter for a data export function.

Anyone else crashing Premiere when loading an export from Vegas?

I'm not running Premier and I'm not running on a Mac. Here's a project exported from Vegas Pro 12 that you can try. This was from my System # 2.

I have the 'old school' non CC version of AE 5.5.

I believe I was able to export from Vegas to AE5.5 , then from AE to get to Prem. ( CC). I don't have Prem to test, it was someone else's .

We were both on PCs

Another thing you can try is the final cut XML, which seems to be somewhat benign, but that may crash it too.

From what I can tell, there is a big difference between to original non-CC version of the prem files and the CC versions, even Adobe users have this issue. The Vegas export is probably only coded for the non-cc version.

hope this helps.

This is a known issue for me and it has to do with how the XML from Vegas is parsed in PPro. Sending from PPro to Vegas requires stripping the PPro project down to a rough edit only with no effects/transitions, etc to import the PPro project.

Have you tried exporting your Vegas Pro project as a Final Cut XML file and then importing into PPro?

I do not get a crash, v13 to premiere cc, but all I get is the project media loaded, nothing on the timeline at all

This actually worked for me. Thank you so much,Sir
