Hi Admitted novice here, but I've been transferring my vinyl to the computer and then to CD. Problem is, ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 about two weeks ago,I just noticed all my recordings are now only in mono! Did the windows download change something ? Any help to restore my sound settings that apparently have changed? Step by step please, as I said I'm a novice. Thanks in advance for any help. |

It could be that the upgrade changed some settings, though that seems unlikely. It's pretty easy to fix though. In the Record dialog window that comes up when you click the record button it says right at the top which format file it will be creating. If that doesn't stay "Stereo", then click the [New] button and change channels to "2 (Stereo)", click [OK]. It should remember this as your default for future recording sessions, but it doesn't hurt to peek at that description line each time just to make sure. |

Thanks for the quick reply, BUT...I'm recording out of the tools tab vinyl recording and restoration tool and there's nothing at the top. I went back and hit the record button at I guess would be the main page as you seem to be talking about and after I hit the record button it does say 44,100 Hz, 16 bit, Stereo, but I've recorded thousands of songs from the vinyl recording and restoration tool tab, so it's all I know at this point. |

- Check the 'recording device routing' settings as well. Options> Preferences> Audio> Record - Try recording directly, applying processing after it has been digitized (and saved in a WAVE or AIFF uncompressed PCM format. - A setting on your sound card - A/D interface? |

Taking everything at face value, you may need to uppgrade your audio device drivers, reboot, and reselect them in SF prefs. |

Now that you mention that I DID get a message when I signed on one morning about that time I was missing a driver, but I don't know what that means or how it could have happened. Today while trying to learn about editing on the main record page, and maybe stumble on a solution my computer froze up and I followed a link to two Sony downloads that apparently are supposed to fix some problem. Not sure if it's all related. Thanks again for everyone's concern. |
