Hi I have just purchased Sony Sound Forge 11 and a new High End RME UCX sound card

I want to be able to record higher than 48k but for some reason when I go above 48k in sound forge to record and hit record button sound forge just locks with no audio on the record meter ?

why is this ??? this sound card can work up to 192 khz

but sony sound forge just will not work above 48

I'm using and I7 high end PC 16gigs mem, 3.ghz I7, OCZ SSD drive

this should not be an issue

Can anyone please advise me whats wrong ? thanks

Oh I am using latest ASIO drivers for new RME sound card, and the latest version of sound forge, running windows 7 64bit

Found the problem !! hope this helps others

I was recording on one of the upper channels on the RME sound card

When 192k is selected you lose the use of these channels, so sound forge was selecting a disabled channel
