Obviously SF Mac is nowhere near the full feaures of SF PC. Most recent update was 9 months ago. Are they drip feeding us paid upgrades to slowly get to the complexity of PC version, or is this pretty much it? |

SF Mac is a long way from SF PC. The things I miss the most are Programmable keystrokes Batch including ALL the commands in PC, I really need Insert Silence on thousands of samples Colours, yes sounds dumb but I really like separate Channel 1/2 colours oh and please fix the selection divisions. I want 4 for 4 bar loops. Currently 2 divisions gives you 6 3 divisions gives you 7 4 divisions gives you 8 Did no one really notice this? Regards, B |

Other needed "complexity:" JKL or other way to PLAY at faster than 1x speed not just jump around F4 or ^Y to repeat a previous command (preferrably customizable) Fully customizable keyboard commands that can be saved under different operators' names Method to copy customized keyboard layout to multiple computers (where is the keyboard settings file???) Spectral display view without all the features of SLP Regions list that PLAYS from the Regions List window, not just moves the CTI to the time of the marker. (I think it did it once and then never again. Is there some toggle???) Ability to insert markers on the fly while recording. The list goes on... and on... and........ The more we work with SFM, the more we are starting to implement new workflows in other software because this one is no longer worth pursuing. Maybe in five years, if it's still around and has the core features of the windows version it will be worth another look, but, in the meantime, we need to produce product for our clients and can't afford to wait for the whims of the Sony marketing team to dribble out the most basic tools. @cybercom yes, totally agree with you. additionally a proper parameter automation workflow would be desirable. right now it takes a massive amount of clicking to do the simplest automations. the pc version handles this much better. plugin loading times need to be fixed as well, as overall stability. i'm using tons of different audio programs, and soundforge mac is the only one which crashes with absolute consistency.. |
