All the really weird stuff happens to me

I previewed the AVCHD media for a project and it plays fine in the media player. I bring it into VMS 10 and put it on the timeline and immediately the audio is 5 seconds out of sync with video AND the audio restarts 2/3 of the way through the clip while the video portion continues rolling along. I went back and double checked the media file and it plays flawlessly in the media player. So bizarre. Same after reboot and same with any other piece of media I bring in. Any ideas whatsoever?

Have you ensured that your project settings match your media specs? (You can set this up for the project by clicking the Match Media button in the Video Project Properties.)

Matching your project settings to your media specs ensures that your video will and project will perform at maximum efficiency and your video won't lag behind your audio.

This is, of course, assuming you've got an adequately powered processor and plenty of RAM. Which processor to you have?
