Subject:Broken Simple Synthesis dialog in SF5

I needed a 2-second 440Hz sinewave, and thouht the Simple synthesis under the Tools menu could do the job. In theory, it could, yes. However, its dialog seems to be strangely broken. I can type in a value in the first field, but when I jump to the next field, the first field's value snaps to 60 seconds. When I select the field again to correct the value, then the frequency field snaps to 22050Hz. No matter how I edit the values, they snap back to those and even if I manage to put the values I want in, the final result still renders to those values. That's not all: If I press Preview, the values go completely haywire. I'm unable to render anything but silence or 60 seconds of 22050Hz sine. What's going on here? Is some .DLL broken somewhere or what? I'm running Sound Forge 5.0f under Windows 2000 Service Pack 2. I downloaded and installed the newest version after noticing the problem, hoping it would fix it, but it didn't. |

Uninstall the broken 5.0f, then reinstall using just the 5.0f installer you downloaded from us. |

OK, I uninstalled the 5.0F and reinstalled and re-registered online - but the problem remains: the Simple Synthesis parameters are still dysfunctional, as described in my earlier post. What might be causing it? I have previously updated Vegas Audio without uninstalling the previous one. Should I perform the same routine to that too? (maybe they share a DLL or something?) |
