Subject:Splitting a track into several tracks

I am in way over my head with this software. What I want to use it for is relatively simple in comparison to what it is meant for however I am having the hardest time figuring out how to do what seems like a very simple task. I have spent hours online trying to find a solution including Youtube, manuals etc....
Here is my issue. I have recorded an artists live performance with permission from the artist and venue. I have a single wav file that makes up the entire performance however I want to create separate files for each of the songs performed at the show.
There must be a way to take a portion of a track and copy it to a new track that I can render as a separate wav file and then do this for each song that makes up the whole shows wav file.
Based on the complexity of this program this seems like it would be simple. Can anyone explain to me how to do this task?
Thank you.

ACID is not really ideal for operations like this...Forge would be better...but, you can do it.

Place the cursor at the time of the end of the first song.
Split the event (S key, or use the edit menu)
Repeat this for each song in the long recording.
Then you can drag each of these new "events" on the the original track to a new track. Just click on the second song, and drag it below the current track and a new track will be created for it.

Repeat this for each "song" in your long recording.

Make sure then that each of these new tracks has its event moved to time zero on its track.

Once you have it all set up like this.

Select "Render as..." from the File menu.

Select the format type - Wave most likely.

Click the box "Save each track as a separate file"

This will render each of the songs on their own track as seperate file.

Render.

Again, not the easiest way, but it is how you can do it in ACID.

A simpler approach is to use Loop Regions (the region right above Markers located above the first track). Create a Loop Region for the first song by left clicking, holding and dragging the 2-headed arrow). When rendering, select "Render Loop Region Only" to render only that song. Then move the Loop Region to the next song (and expand or contract the Loop Region if the 2nd song is longer or shorter than the first), then render it, etc., etc. You won't have make any splits.

@mike_ln_ky

Yes, I consider this, but it requires multiple renders.

While my approach has more steps to setup, it does generate all of new files in a single render. No need to type in a name for each render.

Thanks, Peter. I use Loop Regions because I'm retired and have the time! LOL, multiple renders are not a problem.
