Suddenly, Audio Studio 10 has decided not to load. I've tried different permutations of attaching/removing devices and have, this last time, simply uninstalled then reinstalled the software -- all to no avail. Below are: -- The message I get when I try to open the freshly re-installed version of Audio Studio 10 (running on Windows 7 on Lenovo T500), and -- An excessively long rundown of my system specs. HelpHelpHelp. Please! Can we assume you have not uninstalled any other SCS apps? Sound card changes? VST plug-ins added? (though I don't know if that's applicable to AS) When reinstalling, does the SCS registration process go though? Have you tried disabling all anti-virus, screen savers, ect., ect.? (some anti-virus programs are known to cause problems) Access task manager via the 'three finger salute'. "Ctrl> Alt> Delete" select: "Applications" and close any applications which may be running. If all else fails, try uninstalling using a custom uninstall utility, like REVO (free), using the 'Advanced' mode, which will remove all traces of AS from the registry.. Then, reinstall the latest update of AS-10. http://www.revouninstaller.com Scroll down to find "Free Full Downloads of Revo Uninstaller" (button under Ver. 1.91 > DOWNLOAD) Cheers, Rick Message last edited on1/19/2011 5:34:13 PM byrraud. |

Thanks much, Rick. Revo cleaned everything out very nicely. Reinstalled AS 10.0 with firewall and antivirus off. Opens just fine now. Need to find a good interface and sound card now. For AS 9.0, I was able to use the ASIO drivers with my (antique) Mbox, from Pro Tools days on Windows XP. Oddly, 9.0, Mbox, and ASIO still work fine together on Windows 7, but 10.0 refuses to acknowledge old Mbox/ASIO. Ah, progress... Thanks again for your help. Best, Judith |
