On the wwug I have read a posting about someone who previewed by using his dv camera in the following way :
. Specify external monitor as the IEEE firewire device ( in Video Vegas)
. this is his DV cam.
. now he takes the s-video outlet of his cam and plug it into his TV monitor.
Now he can view the preview via the DV cam on a TV monitor.
Is this possible?

Hello,

The camera operates as a passthrough device. If your camera offers you S-video or composite out and your ext. monitor has the matching input for that output you'll get the image displayed on the monitor as it is presented on the Vegas timeline (once you have set everything up appropriately in Vegas--Go to Help/Contents and Index and read up on External Monitor).

or in a word- "yes"

This was the best feature with my Canopus DVRaptor. But now with the advent of OHCI, it seems that both Adobe and Sofo 'stole' this idea. Thank god they did, I'm simply amazed at what a $30 ohci card can do. Especially with vegas video.
