Subject:difference between Acid and Movie Studio

I have the Movie Studio suite that includes Acid.

I am wondering are there any fundamental differences between Movie Studio and Acid, besides the fact that I can include video with Movie Studio?

I mean are my audio files better quality if I create them in Acid.

I make music files and sometimes I include video and put them on Youtube. So I was thinking maybe I should be working in Movie Studio instead of Acid. Otherwise, I would finalize the music file and then import it into Movie Studio if I want to add video.

Any thoughts on this?
thanks,

ACID handles loops, which are snippets of music that you use to create musical pieces. These loops can be chopped, diced, pitch & tempo shifted, and dragged out to repeat as necessary on the ACID timeline. If you want to make music this way then ACID is an indispensable tool.

If you're not making music in such a fashion but going the more traditional route, especially if you are recording live music yourself, then ACID doesn't really have much benefit for you over what you can already do in Vegas Movie Studio.

Different tools for different purposes.

Acid is a music creation tool that includes audio recording and mixing like Movie Studio, but also virtual instruments and MIDI sequencing which VMS does not. Audio for a given audio spec should be to all intents and purposes identical.

Not a VMS user, but I suspect the Acid Loop support in VMS is a subset of the full capabilities in Acid.

ACID Pro 7 has the following:

External control surface channel tracking
Support for external control surfaces
Media Manager™ technology
Customizable loop searches and tagging
Input busses
Real-time rendering
Envelope automation recording
Groove Mapping™ quantization with Groove Cloning™
5.1 surround mixing
Bus-to-bus routing
Rewire mixer and device support
Generate MIDI Time Code and MIDI clock
AC-3 Studio, and MPEG-2 format support

I think as well as folder tracks & advance song parts marker/labeling which is really good where you can copy, re-arrange or re-position each part of your song by just dragging the label...
