Basicly i'm looking for a cheap mixer. I want 6-12 channels , and some good mic preampes and it cant be noisey. thanks.

so far i've found behringer mixers........they seem to be cheap to be good but i've herd some good things about them too

also i 've heard (and seen)the mackies. they seem to be very expensive though, for a cheap guy (@350 for a 12 channel mixer)are the XDR mic preamps really that good on a Shure Beta 58A mic?

if anybody knows could u drop a message here or email me.......thanks

i've also seen nady systems mixer looks identaical do berenger too. I've also posted this on the Sound Forge forum, so if u c it there same person same thing

I've used quiet a few different Mackie models and i've been very pleased with all of them. They're some of the cleanest and quietest mixers i've seen in the price range. Our audio equipment supplier/installer tells us to stay away from the Behringers, but that could be because he gets a better markup on the Mackies ;)

i have a behringer eurorack mixer (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=020224011048012231040107836671/search/g=home/detail/base_id/35499) it works great and was cheep!. I do have some noise in my setup somewhere... i'm hunting it down now (here's a sample of the noise if you're intersted.. http://www.panicnow.net/noise.wav its a 1.5mb wav file so... dialup beware). It could be my synth (motif 6) my mixer (behringer) or my card (audiophile 2496)... it's driving me nutz. so when i do figure out if it is my mixer or what... i'll post again.

good luck
john
