Yes, just spot: "Then there's QTools/SF, a software Plug-In for the PC-based Sound Forge 3.0 and 4.0 sound editing software from Sonic Foundry." Which is a description about "QSound: 3D Audio That Works" located at Sweetwater. Was this included on 3.0 or 4.0? Is is today? available? Welcomed any related info from those in the know. Thanks |

I recall QSound.. but I don't think it was in conjunction with SF. Do you know how old SF-3 is? In computer years: ' the stone age', I actually used SF3 and some of the terminology was bizarre (audio-wise). It was much better with SF-4.5 which had the general SF GUI we still know and love. I don't know if SF3 would even run on today's OS.. or even XP. I think it was designed around the Win 95 era... maybe before. |

I started with 4.5XP as my first SonicFoundry software. Pretty sure i was running it on Win95 machines back then, and on Win98 when it came out. That puts it at least 18 or 19 years ago. I've never even seen screenshots of earlier versions. I'd say that any software more than 6 years old you're going to have to be really lucky to get it running, and anything over 12 years old would usually take pretty much a miracle. Hopefully Windows10 will be the solution to all that, eventually. |

I still find that some of the older software that Sonic Foundry created still work under Windows 7 x64 like SIREN Jukebox. I'm still using that software even today. SIREN came out in 1997 -2001. A few tweaks are needed, mainly the FrogASPI but it works fine and I still use it to make VBR mp3 files from Audio cd's. I'm just saying because software is old, does not mean it is not good. |

Oh, my good god! I saw your post about QSound and had to jump in. Don't know why this came up for, or what it's all about, but QSound back in the early 90s was a total nightmare! If your talking about the cheap attempt for surround sound back then, I would suggest you not give it another thought. Listen to a few songs that were produced with this horrific sounding effect (such as Madonna's Vogue on her greatest hits) and other few songs with it and next you'll be asking how to get rid of it. It's really unlistenable. |
