I searched for this topic but couldn't find it. Real basic. I ripped a DVD (w/ a trial version of Slysoft) to mp4 (for the purposes of editing it from an R to a PG rating). Upon completing edits, I attempted to render but VMS 10 continued to render infinitely and wouldn't stop at the loop marker end. So I was advised that the rip must've been corrupted and that I should re-rip. I Re-ripped DVD with (presumably/hopefully) more reliable, purchased software (Aimersoft) and now want to replace the source file in the project I originally edited with the newly ripped source file (ripped to AVI). However, when I specify replacement file, it imports but all the media in the timeline displays as "media offline". I've done this years ago where all the edits adopt the new source file but I seem to be missing something this time. Am I remembering correctly that this can be done?
Want to replace source file yet maintain edits
