Subject:Sound forge needed to record sound in Mov Sudio?

I have Sony Movie Studio and Sony Audio Sound Forge.

DO I need audio studio inorder to be able to record sound in Movie Studio?

Or can I just record direct to Movie Studio?

The reason I ask is I see where when in MOvie Studio, you click on the record button and then speak and then click record and the DONE but when I do that - Movie studio freezes and I have to close out using Task manager.

I guess I am recording straight to Movie studio in that case as I did not have SOUND FORGE open so it seems that there Movie studio has it's own built in abilities to record sound?

You should know that when I place the cursor on a clip and record sound and then click the sound icon again and done, that is when MOvie studio freezes.

BUT - if I place the cursor in a blank spot on the timeline, I am able to record sound and play it back w out the screen freezing.

No, SFAS is a completely separate application.

You should be able to record straight into Movie Studio. If it stuffs up when recording finished, then there is something not quite right with you installation, soundcard driver, or Windows.

I'd update your soundcard driver first, then if no better, uninstall and reinstall Movie Studio.

geoff
