Hi I am a newbie and just got Sound Forge XP 5.0 When I click File-->Open I don't see MP3 option in the drop down. So I choose "All Files" and any MP3 I try to open SF says "unsupported file type." Yet on the box it says opens and saves MP3. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! |

I was getting frustrated and stumbled onto the downloads section on this site. I installed 5.0f and it works...but yes at the limited 96k rate. DOH! Thanks man. |

Hmmm. I can get up to 128k bitrate but nothing higher than that in 5.0f for MP3's. ACID Pro 3.0f lets me encode at up to 320k bitrate. Weird. Iacobus |

Send tech support an e-mail. I can get 320k with my SF XP 5.0f. Later. |

Have you registered Sound Forge XP yet? You won't be able to save MP3 files until you've registered it. Also, in response to other quesitons, there are only a few basic templates available on the Save As screen. You'll have to click the Custom button to choose other bitrates and so forth. |
