Acid Pro 7.0e Build 713 Windows 8.1 Audio input via Zoom H5 (used as interface) I've made a song, almost 3 minutes long, in 6/8, 92 bpm. It's only 4 midi tracks and 2 audio (one made by rendering out a midi track, and one by dropping in samples. So I make a new audio track by singing into the Zoom H5 which is connected to the PC via USB. One track, one take, full length of the song. Both the Zoom and Acid is set to 44.1 16 bit. The recorded track plays slower than the rest, so by the end of the song it is about a second off. I noticed that the recording has been automatically beatmapped (this setting must have been on by default). Upon looking at the beatmapping in clip properties I find that my 6/8 setting is ignored. Beatmapping is looking at my song in 4/4. Other than that I can not find anything that looks wrong. I opened the clip in Sound Forge and removed the beatmap details. Then the file played ridiculously slow in Acid. I mean, it was in sync when I sang it, why isn't there an untamperedwith version I can revert to. Or is there? I suppose I can make audio of all the midis, move everything to Vegas and record there, but I had a good take, and I can't believe Acid is so lame it can't handle 6/8. |

Sounds like that track's clip is not a Beatmapped clip. Convert it to a Beatmapped clip and it should then recognize the correct beats per minute. |

Thanks, Mike. Here's what I found when I kept at it. When I open Clip Properties there is a choice of 'Loop', 'One-Shot' or 'Beatmapped' (under Acid type). Beatmapped was selected; the clip was actually beatmapped but incorrectly. When I selected one-shot the clip played in sync with the rest. How I was supposed to fathom that my tender singing should appear as one-shot I don't know. I realised this after having rendered everything to wav and tried the files i Vegas. They were just as disastrous there. So, one-shot it is - unless you are a straight 4/4 kind of person. |
