hi, i'd like to record a voice over and work on it in sound forge - how do i do it directly into the pc and do i need any additional software?

You really don't need any additional software other than Sound Forge. However, the quality of your soundcard and mic will determine the overall quality of the voice-over.

Soundblaster cards are notoriously noisy for recording, for example. You'd be better off with soundcards from choices such as Midiman (M-Audio), Echo or Terratec.
