Capture

I just purchased Video Factory version 1.0. When I capture video from my Cannon XL-1 the App. says it captured the video but at less than the 29.97 NTSC. I also notice that the time code clock in the capture app is not running smoothly. It's as if it's not able to keep up with the info comming from the camera. The video in the preview window is choppy. I've checked the forums and one said check the Dma status and it's enabled. Any suggestions. Iv'e got a Pentium 111 1 gig 128 ram and 20 gig hard drive.

1) Are you capturing to the same hard-drive as the OS? If you are, consider purchasing a secondary 7200 RPM drive to capture to. You'll have better results.

2) Not sure what OS you are using, but if it is any Windows 9x model you'll want to make sure your OHCI compliant IEEE1394 capture card isn't on the same IRQ as any other device (other than PCI steering). That could cause IRQ steering conflicts.
