Thanks.

Nevermind! I Finally found this v5.0f. In case anyone is wondering, this file is located on the ACID Music 3.0 cd.

There are demo files for Sound Forge v5.0f and the Sound Forge XP 5.0f programs.

I know I asked this question in the past and no one provided a download of it. Now I can finally use the updated version under my Halloween XP system.

Still not sure why SoFo / SONY never provided the files for this version.

They obviously did provide them once upon a time, or no one would have ever had it installed to use it. I have it backed up on some CDs somewhere, but haven't had the time to go search through the pile to find it, sorry.

If i recall correctly, SonicFoundry (at the time) had a falling out with their MPEG codec provider and had to stop providing all versions of their software using that codec. By version 6 then had changed to partnering with MainConcept instead. I suspect it might also not be possible to activate the MPEG codecs in version 5 anymore so you many not be able to import/save MP3 or MPEG video files.

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for that brief history.

I now remember I used VideoFactory v1 way way back in the Sonic Foundry days and I remember them using the Ligos encoder. I guess I never thought about that encoder since I do not remember seeing that mentioned in Sound Forge 5 documentation.

I will have to check that out and hopefully they still allow registration.

Thanks.
