Subject:unsupported format

Hi. I'm creating small clips from a longer wav file in Sound Forge Pro 10 by dragging - quick and easy and done many times in the past. However, when I try to save these clips I'm getting the 'unsupported format' message. When I exit SF and re-enter the clips are there and playable. I can't keep doing this for a long project, so what's happening and is there a way around it?? The long wav file has been created by mixing three mono tracks, by placing one on top of the other using dragging, and this track has saved and plays fine.
Thanks

Is there any chance you've been trying to save as "Scott Studios WAV" instead of "Microsoft WAV"?

When you do get this working again you might want to consider creating regions. If you place regions around the sections you want to slice up you can then use Tools / Export regions and save each piece as a separate WAV file in one shot.

If you don't have gaps between the sections, you can start out by simply placing regular markers at each break point, then convert the markers to regions. Make sure you include a marker at the end!
