Any plans on upgrading the current and very basic Burn To CD function in Sound Forge Pro 2.5 Mac to the more useful CD Architect functions??

CD Architect was really the most logical step after using Sound Forge to master your material and seems to be curiously missing on the Mac side. Many of our clients still require Master CD's for reference as well as for mail in hard copies to the duplicators for more complex projects ( double CD's, live, ect )

The built in burner ( while much appreciated ) is extremely basic with none of the necessary tools that CD Architect has and that modern mastering requires.

Doubt it. Sadly CDA (PC) hasn't been updated for many manyh years, and users are still hanging out for a few tweaks to that, in vain.

... which is a pity because it it a fantastic inruitive, quick, easy app to use - possibly the best for it's purpose ! I guess you could use some sort of Windows emulator on a Mac with CDA, now that Apple has joine dthe Intel world, or install a Win partition on your Mac and get to use Win SF and all the other goodies too !

I hear ya, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a Mac version of Sound Forge in the first place. I have no programming experience so I am probably way off base but it seems that if Sound Forge can display and edit audio, adapting CD Archtect would be the logical progression.

It's a real workflow killer to have to shutdown the computer and reboot the Bootcamp partition just to use CD Architect. But there really is no other Mac based equivalent that is anywhere near as powerful and has such an intuitive workflow.

I think this is why your seeing so many other DAWs like Studio One starting to intigrate serious Mastering and Album creation tools built right into the interface. That's a powerful combination that I would love to see part of the Sound Forge Pro for Mac products and would use everyday here at work.

There's HOFA CD-Burn and DDP that can run standalone, as a plugin or both; separate versions for each use. Hasn't been updated in a while from what I can see.

Then there's DSP-Quattro which does CD burn AND editing that's a lot like a combo of the Windows version of Soundforge (you can have multiple files open at the same time unlike SF Mac) and CD Architect. And you can use standard vst and au plugins in DSP-Q. Runs in Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite. Has a demo version available.
