Can the Bounce text media generator freeze text?

I'm using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13.

I'd like to have my text freeze and hold for several seconds after the Bounce media generator "bounces" the text only once instead of a loop of repeating the bounce.

If it can do it, I haven't figured out how.

If it can please give me some pointers on the approach.

[Nor have I figured out a way to have the bounce not bounce at all in hopes I could use two events concatenated together - the first event would bounces the text into position and the second event would seamlessly holds the text in the position.]

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

When you create your text event, specify the length that you want the 'bounce' to occur in the 'Duration' box in the event properties. Then drag the event end to extend the event as far as you require the text to remain static. Right-click the event and choose 'Switches' then uncheck the 'Loop' option. You'll now find that the bounce occurs during the original event length with the letters static for the remainder of the event.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh Switches->Loop. I was soooooo focused on the "Video Media Generator" panel - trying all options there. But it was a good exercise to get into all the details in that panel.

Thanks Jack. I'll spend time now working/playing with right-click popup menu options and add that to my repertoire.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me!

Jack S - thankyou...
SMSv12....I wanted to have the "Bounce" come in from the Right- i.e the way you would normally read text, but even "Reverse" doesn't ( EDIT - yes it does but Location must be far right ) - I never thought of Looking at Switches .... pity the Media Generation panel doesn't have a "More adjustments" which points us to these hidden-away features.

What would be nice is to have the text bounce in ( from the right) freeze so it can be read by those in the Audience with the worst eyesight ( YES not everyone has perfect Eyes/Ears!),,,and then bounce, exiting left. A "Blur-in" and "Blur-out" would be nice too....

BTW can I fix the Shadow offsets? I find the default is too much ( makes the text look floating...Arrgh! ) and then I have to fiddle all three, every time.

Of course the Pro version can handle individual letters ( see this Website Tutorial) although I've been critised for using too many effects - and that was SMS v10 - some Judges just like it plain, like a lantern show ( ah, but that came in from the side....and sometimes upsidedown ! ).

To fix the shadow offsets create your event with all the parameters set as you want then save it as a preset. In the Media Generator panel type a new name for the preset, ie MyBounce, then click the floppy disk icon. Your saved preset will now appear at the bottom of the preset drop-down list.
Do some experimenting with the Titles & Text media Generator. It's quite a powerful tool that can be manipulated in a variety of ways.

Thanks Jack S - will try a suite of My Presets . . . . but I wonder why the SMS shadow-default is so ugly?

I guess I've never taken the time to discover this aspect - esp. as the "?" for Plug-in Help just explains what the various controls are . . . which I kinda worked out although I find "Location" a pain; as I have to move the side-scroll every time to get sight...in SMS v10 it was faster, although lacking those extras.

I guess too that a preset for each Text-size will prevent the text being so BIG that it spills over the screen . . . . and I can choose more-interesting typefaces. However, if it was "my interface design" these would be radio-buttons which I could customise so each time I call up Text it would be nearly perfect - Most WP programs have Headings, Sub and Body Text all easily available - but SMS has always been weak on Text - e.g. try to Copy/Paste! Even the cheapest WP will run rings round...

Even though I have NuBlue I don't use it (but almost gave up the Install) - Way too tedious - and a woeful interface, IMHO.

Thankyou.
