Build 444 and 3D SBS Full Frame not working

I've read the other thread on this problem, but That solution doesn't work for me.

I am having a problem with SBS Full. I have no problems with SBS half. These are video files from a JVC GS-TD1 camera, AVCHD 3D files Side By Side Full Frame.

Turning off GPU acceleration has no effect.

I set the project properties to SBS Full and the video properties to SBS full. If I set the preview property to SBS full, it displays one half of the video split in 2 with a lot of space in between. If I set preview to anaglyph, it combines the two halves of the half image into an anaglyph.

I could convert the SBS full files to SBS Half files using the supplied Everio software, but it takes very long, and cuts the bitrate in half. The full files are encoded at 25 Mbps, the half files are encoded at 12 Mbps, and are a lot less sharp than the originals.

Vegas is only capable to read the sidebyside half files generated by the TD1. MVC files generated by the JVC TD1 cannot be read by Vegas or Vegas Moviestudio. Either you split the files in L and R and pair them again in Vegas, or you think about to use for example Edius.

Thank you for the reply. I will probably end up splitting them as this seems it would be easier.

I've been driving all day, so please excuse me if this comes out as gibberish....

What happens if you import the file, without setting the project as 3D? Do you get a side by side full image? If so, maybe you can render this in a format Sony can work with in 3D and import that?

I did something like that recently...and have a thread on it, I think...while trying to create a 3D video using a pair of Kodak SP360 cameras. The left camera was upside down and that gave Vegas fits. Before I figured out how to do it right, I created a project that was twice as wide as normal, imported the left and right clips, then used the pan/crop tool to create a non-3D side by side full video. I rendered this as an MP4, then successfully imported this file into a 3D project.

Just a thought...
