Hey guys, it´s my first input in these forum. :) I work from 2000 with Sony Acid Pro (formerly Sonic Foundry). First, it´s a shame from sony for no answers about the future of Acid Pro. It is arrogant and embarrassing. I read frequently the forum about the future and the tech problems with Acid. In the past I had a lot of problems with Acid, Midi, VST, Bugs, etc.. particular with Windows 2000, XP, ME, Vista (15 years a lot of operating systems;)) . Last Year I bought a Workstation from Fujitsu (Celsius W530) with follow specification: Intel Xeon E3 Proc. Mainboard: Intel C226 (Sandy Bridge) 16GB RAM SSD Harddisk for Acid 1TB SATA 6GB/s for the music (wave) files Graphic: NVidia Quadro 2000D Windows 7 64Bit (!) Audio: M-Audio Firewire 610 Midi Control: Novation Impulse At this time Acid works nearly perfect :) no crashes, no VST and Midi Problems. My last song was over 10 minutes with more than 25 tracks (included five Midi Tracks from Native Instrument VST), no problem. I think it´s not only a operating system problem. It is a combination between all Computer Hardware parts. I think the Mainboard is very important. O.K. Acid has a lot of Bugs (GUI, etc), but this was from the first time ;) But I´m honest, i´m not really trusted with WIN 8.1 or shortly 10. I tested a lot of other competitive DAW´s, at this time I have no favorite :( I love the Acid GUI !!!! I love the easy way to create and edit tracks!!! So, I have hope that Sony returns to the origin, not only kiddy Software please!! ;) I hope I can help with these input. Cheers Stephan dawnmusic.berlin |
