I am able to extract the CD from disk but when I go to save on my hard drive I get an error message stating that the file is write protected. I then tried copying the file to disk so that I could remove the read only then when I try to extract it seems I can only extract from a CD Rohm. Question 2: Is it possible next time a disk is made to take the read only attribute off the .cda file on the CD? Can someone help me out? Danny Ayo |

Ummmmmmmmm, i'm not sure if this is answering what you're asking or not, but ..... In windows explorer, open up the directory on your hard drive where that file is stored. Right-mouse-button click on the file name and choose Properties from the menu that pops up. There will be a few check boxes at the bottom of the properties window. If Read-only is checked, remove the checkmark and click [OK]. Maybe this will help? |

When I try to uncheck the box for read only, Windows says that it can't. I believe the reason is because I am trying to change the properties on a CD. If I copy the file on the CD to my hard drive I can change the properties BUT I don't see a way to get SF to extract the file. The only command I can find is "Extract from CD". It won't let me extract from file on hard drive. Help needed, Danny Ayo |

Hmmm. I think you're trying to go the long way around and make it hard for yourself. Use the Extract from CD function to get the audio file off the CD. Then save this file you've extracted to your hard drive as a .wav (or mp3, pca, etc) file. Do not try to copy the file from the CD to the hard drive first. That won't get you anywhere. |
