Vegas pro 11 won't open today - always been fine

Big problem. I have been using Vegas Pro 11 (683) since it came out. Many reported bugs, issues etc etc and it was dubbed a flop, but I had few issues and have used it fine for years until today.

I recon I haven't used it for about 2 weeks but on opening the program when the loading window comes up it stalls early on when it says "creating video plug-in factory" then the error message comes up. A solution offered was to update to build 701 but this has made no difference.

Help is appreciated - I have tried a system restore from a week ago when some windows updates auto installed but no luck.

Try and hold down CTRL+SHIFT when launching Vegas. This will reset Vegas to its default settings.

No luck - even when the "delete all cached application data" box is checked

What does the error message say? Open the error details when the box comes up and post it.

Also, will neither the 32 or 64 bit version open?

All my problems with Vegas relate to Audio. If I set the Audio Device to Microsoft Sound Mapper, it wil hardly ever crash. If I set it to my Motu 828x external box, it will sometimes crash, seldom, or quite often.
This may not help you, in your case, I just wanted to add this information.

Further info - I only have the 64 bit installed

Would you believe I have sorted it simply from your suggestion to post the error message....

As you can see on there it shows the fault module as a titler.dll file.

I simply navigated to it, cut it out and pasted to my desktop as I have no idea what it does..... Vegas then opened up! So I cut and pasted it back into its original position and Vegas opens up as well

Why is this? I can't even begin to explain it as my knowledge in these matters is poor.

Anyway - cheers for the help. I can sleep easy now

Access rights might be a cause. These may chgange when you cut a file, paste it to another place and then mocve it back again.

Congrats on finding the problem - and welcome to the club. All Vegas users will eventually become proficient at decoding error messages. ;-)
