Greeting folks. I’m having some trouble making my own loops in Sound Forge for use in Acid. I’m using Sound Forge XP Studio and have a Sound Blaster 5.1 + MP3 sound card. When I record using my Roland XP-80, the loops have a lot of hiss when played back in Acid. I realize my sound card and speakers are not the best, but the loops from Sonic Foundry sound just fine. The XP-80 sounds fine when played over the computer’s speakers too. I’ve tried the noise gate in SF and in Acid, but to no avail. I’ve ordered SF 5.0 and Noise reduction 2.0 hoping that will help. Eventually I’ll get a better sound card, but one thing at a time. Any ideas?

FYI - That's the card I just bought and I'm having some trouble getting it to work with SF 5.0f (see my posting also from today). I hope I'll get answers soon, but no response yet from Sonic Foundry or from Midiman (makers of the sound card).

Mark
