Menu for DVD

I have a DVDA 6 menu with 7 buttons and frames from the 7 parts. The preselected menu buttons cycle thru from one video to the next. Works fine.

The background is a graphic from one of the templates and works well. All this appears on the timeline. I have no background audio although I have considered a 30 second loop or so created with Cinescore. (Cinescore was used to create the music beds for the 7 other parts which vary as I customized each.)

If I decide to make the menu into a loop (and if that's possible) is there a way to make it fade in at the beginning then fade to black and loop? I'm not sure how I could also make the buttons appear and also go away and keep them interactive.

Maybe I'm thinking beyond the bounds of DVDA6 or more likely something that might take a lot of scripting.

Any suggestions, including KISS, appreciated :-)

Wayne

You would make your fades in Vegas, keeping the video exactly the same length as the audio.

Right now the background for the menu is from a theme. The file is "Theater: Background.jpg" and I'm using the Holly buttons and images from each video.

So I would locate that Background.jpg, pull it into Vegas and maybe render a video of 30 seconds with fades on the heads and tails.

I can see that the buttons would superimpose themselves on the video, but I'd want them to fade in and out also . . . or maybe just appear/disappear after/before the fades. This is all sounding a bit complex for me to figure out for this project.

You want to customize the stock themes and buttons?
I honestly don't know how to do that.

You won't be adding fades to a still image background.
Suggest you start in Vegas and see what you come up with.
I would think a looping background with ftb would be a bit annoying.

You can modify stock themes and buttons - there has been help in this forum on how to do that. Not for the light-hearted.

You can produce your own customized effects:
1) Background is a video - can be edited and created in VegasPro
2) You can animate buttons - creating video in VegasPro
3) both kinds of videos need to be worked with logic of endless loop
4) creating these effects with the stock images for buttons and backgrounds is not worth it.
5) BUT you could do this as steps 1-3 with your own sources
