when I say "no aspect ratio" whole square adjusts?

I say "no aspect ratio" (I also say fill entire frame) but whenever I try, for example, to reduce the width of the video in half the height also is reduced. I could understand it doing this if I want to keep the aspect ratio the same but why does it do it when I don't care if the aspect ratio isn't the same? Thanks for help on this.

Movie Studio responds to voice commands? Cool!!

Not following your explanation. How are you reducing the width?

If in Event Pan/Crop, you may have Lock Aspect Ratio enabled.

Right that was it. Thanks for the reply. There are 2 separate places you have to change in order to tell it to not maintain aspect ratio. Under "source" I selected "no" after "Maintain aspect ratio". That did not do what it says. You also have to go to the unlabeled icon on the left (hover over it to identify it as "Lock aspect ratio") and hold down control while clicking it to have independent control of the width and height.
Even knowing these two things I still have a hard time cropping. I wish I could just draw a box on the video preview window (that would be much easier and quicker) and always have it fill the screen.
