Hi.
In many internet tutorials I see that Movie Studio 10 interface had more buttons and options. In Movie Studio 13 can I customize the toolbar Like 10 version?
Thanks
SCS does not sell v 12 any more. They only sell the latest versions of their products.
You may still find it inexpensively somewhere. If you're in Europe, check Amazon sites.
On this site Movie Studio 12 Suite is 49,95€
Is this site realiable?

The installation seems a crack...
If you're considering the MSPlatinum 12 Suite, beware of the stripped OEM version.
Read this: no extras?
"The trick here is to look at the product dimensions. If it states"
E.g. amazon.co.uk currently seems to sell both versions and the price is different as well.
I'd use established sites only.

Thanks for answers and explanations.
I asked Sony if I can get a discount on the 13 version upgrade (70 €) since I already bought Movie Studio 13 and Acid Music Studio.
It will be tough, but it's a try.
Thank you again.
I just upgraded from v-11 to v-13 and I use Movie Studio in a business environment for internal videos. Did Sony seriously discontinue the ability to customize the toolbar?!!! What kind of thinking was that? I figured the "Simple" interface would be the dumbed-down version for the average Joe, but dumbing-down the "Advanced" interface? If Sony thinks that's going to make me upgrade to Vegas, they are fooling themselves. It's more likely to make me upgrade to a competitor. This is VERY FRUSTRATING!
I'm sure it was done with the best of Intentions.
However, folk don't like to "unlearn" stuff...so only new-users would really benefit.
I suspect the underlying reason was to do with touch-screen because Microsoft suddenly realised they were missing out - Win 8 was a jump-reaction that has not been well received - although Win10 is rumoured to provide interface choices - which should have been there at the start.
If you have a garage-door opening dongle it doesn't have QWERTY key-fob.
Similarly if your monitor is a tiny LCD screen (like a Mobile phone), you don't have room for a couple of Toolbars. What seems blindingly obvious to Users is always treated with the Cost/Benefit routine by Managers . . . . to the extent they'd rather lose Sales than have to double the work-load.
The same applies to Software - each "version" increases the workload ( usually ) with extra "features" because this is seen as a "Reason to Purchase" - whereas if there is a short-cut into town folks will start using it - even if the Council has resurfaced the "long-route" and painted more helpful direction signs on the road ( until it snows ).
What I want is less clutter - when I'm doing one Task, I concentrate on that - I don't need all the other bits taking up space . . . neither SMS or Microsoft appear to understand - that is how folks work.
I don't recall using ANY icons - except the "Import Media" - but even that is only a bad Habit... I could easily select Import media by clicking on the Bin it should go in ( thereby checking it will ) and then selecting the Source + File for each bin.....presently it seems to remember only the "last source" and I have to go back to "My Computer" to find the drive for any new Media.
I'm not saying this IS a better solution . . . but if it works, then all bins could be filled from the right sources - I had a bad experience recently where some m2ts files were on different SDHC cards ( Copied to their HDD folders ).
One day I realised one of the folders was incorrectly named and days later, when SMS started again it asked for a new media Location ( OK, so far )... but I managed to provide the wrong Info - and the software isn't smart enough to recognise the clips - date would help or size . . . Both of these pieces of Info are in the files . . . why wouldn't your software check this?
I ended up with a very confusing (dot) vf file - since once it was saved ( I hadn't got to the bad section ! ), it is set in stone and was a huge job to Undo.
A tiny thing like checking the Date or the File-size would have alerted me to this mistake as computers are especially stupid without humans making things a lot easier to trap errors.
Similarly it would help beginners to offer to set up their Bins - five will do:
HD (=movies)
Stills
Music
Voice
Text.
This saves having to separate Media later when it gets complicated.
Also suggest the Media files are Identified ( Control + I ) on the Timeline . . . this helps when a project is getting longer.
+ However, note my comments earlier that the m2ts file "number" is insufficient, since the Media can be spread over several SDHC cards - so the numbers can repeat.
AND could the Identifier be to the right of the fade-in? At present they are both using the same space...making it difficult to see / select / find.
