Menu auto-starting on its own. . .

I have a DVDA 6 project with 7 videos and a menu with 7 buttons and 'view' grabs. All that works fine.

But after some amount of time from the Main Menu with no user interaction it seems to be starting the first video on its own. I've looked at settings. The menu is set to loop and no actions I can find are set to start the video playing. The Menu is autoset to 30 seconds and then it is to loop.

I just want the Main Menu to stay on screen, unless there is some way to make it go black after a while. I'm not really concerned about screen burn.

Thanks,

Wayne

What do you mean the "menu is autoset to 30 seconds" ? "then to loop" ? why?

What is the auto start item of your disc ? - uknow -one item, menu or video, must be set as an autostart item.

Menu can play indefinitely - screen burn probably would not be a common problem - but may be more professional if the menu varies at least in animated form as a loop - could be including a black page to reduce chance of a burn.

Is "burn" a potential problem with LCD/LED TVs, or is that a legacy from CRT and plasma TVs?

pretty much legacy, although I would never attempt to leave an LCD on 24hrs a day with one image...

I created a Menu with a still background and buttons for the segments of video. When I looked at the associated settings it said something about the Menu timing be auto-calculated and the value was 30 seconds. Didn't make sense, but it sounded like some sort of background rendering was going on. . .or something.

I think I got it to stop the Auto Staring of the first video by having the General property for Start Script to None, and the End Action Command Property to Hold, from Loop.

This is just a quick project so I'm not putting together anything more fancy for the menu. Maybe for the next project I'll have time to dig into more features.

The manual, using the term loosely, for DVDA 6, is pretty worthless in terms of what and how to do things. If anyone knows of any sample documents or tutorials I'd appreciate hearing about it. Most of the YouTube stuff to show how to do something are just plain crap, IMHO :-)

What might happen? I can think of many LCD displays, my DSLR camera function display for one, that is on all the time. (Digital watch, exchange rate display in bank, etc.)
