I'd like to use a look/technique I've noticed recently in a single credit. After a while I know this may be just another fade, but now it has become a challenge.
The look is where in a 1 or 2 line title, one or more words, sometimes a person's name, will have an ever so slight zoom or shift applied for the duration of the credit. It is almost subliminal. One of the shows that uses it in credits is Black Orphan, but I've noticed it one or two other times.
I thought I might be able to do it with one of the four generators I have, the 3 Sony titlers in VP13 and NB3 Pro. I haven't found the technique with any of them where, even when the text to be tweaked is on a separate track, that I can get a simple size shift. I did manage to get a slight position drift. When I tried animating the text between 2 font sizes (as a test only since it is really far more than I want to change it) the text stays at the first size and 'pops' to the larger size all at once. Yeah, I was expecting too much.
Worst case I can use Photoshop to create the titles, separating out the piece of text I want to change, put them on different tracks, and then animate a Pan or Zoom on the target text. At that point it won't be worth my time to be trendy :-) I'm already having to composite several tracks just for a simple credit.
