Import or Copy Generated Media between projects???

For a series of videos I have a set of credits for the end. They are all the same credits. So I created a set at the end of the first video and am now trying to take the finalized events and add to the tails of the others. They are created with Sony Legacy Text, two events on two different Video Tracks above one another because of a bit of animation is happening on only one of them.

It looked like "File/Import/Media From Project" should work from the project I need to pull the generated media into, but nothing comes in. I even created and saved a project containing ONLY the credits. There were only two generated media events in it. Import Project Media still doesn't bring in anything from this source file even when I tried checking Import Media Bins.

The only way I'm getting generated media to other projects (a kludge IMHO) is to open TWO instances of VP13, select the two events in the Source project, Copy to the clipboard, move to the target project on the other VP13 instance, click in the event track, and Paste. Then appear on the tracks and show up in Project Media.

I went back to the paper manual for VP13 and see a note that Generated Media isn't covered.

Anybody have a less kludgie work-around?

Wayne

Render the credits to a lossless codec and use the file in your other projects.

" I even created and saved a project containing ONLY the credits."

File/Import/Media but instead of media select the project that generates the credits. It's called "nesting", as in nesting one project inside another project.

+1 to what John said. I do this for a few shows I do each year and it's a huge time saver.

I do this all the time (multiple instances of Vegas) -- for generated media -- for cutaways or multiple camera angles -- or entire sequences (including sound tracks) to be recycled into a new project . Doesn't seem Kludgie to me. Seems like one of the very best features of Vegas

Wyane.

Can't you save any generated media that has been customized as a preset? That preset should then be available to all new projects too.
