Mic Preamps any suggestions on a good name? What about AVALON? Need to mic Acoustic Piano and Nylon Guitar. What do you think?

I just bought VV3, Sound Forge 5.0, Acid 3.0, Sonar and WAVES bundle and a Delta 1010

I bought the Behringer T1950 Magician 8-channel Tube pre. I know it's not that pro, but I am very happy with the sound I get from my grand.

How much do you want to spend? Avalon's are nice but not cheap. Your also going to want good condenser mic(s) too if you don't have some already.

If you can afford an Avalon I'm sure you'll be happy, to say the least. I've been shopping for outboard gear and setting up a rack for live classical music recording... and sorting out what I need in outboard gear vs. what my software can do for me.
imo, Some of the less-expensive but still good-quality mic-pre candidates are the PreSonus DigiTube & BlueTube boxes, the JoeMeek MQ3, and then step up to FocusRite. Check out the DigiDesign/Focusrite $450 "M-box".

All of the above are good suggestions, also don't forget the DBX stuff. They have a wide variety on price selections and also along with mic pre's they have combination boxes with mic/pre, compressor, de-esser, exciter...so you get more bang for your buck.
