SOT - CD/DVD disc printer

My Primera Signature Z6 appears to have finally died and Primera no longer offers repair service for that model. Can anyone recommend a repair shop?

Failing that, what's a good inkjet with a CD/DVD printing tray?

I used to print disc by the dozens, but I'm shutting down my business. I have a few jobs left to do and I will occasionally do small jobs in the future, so volume is not a big concern.

Thanks

I have a Bravo SE for big runs but for small ones I still use my older model Canon Pixma printer.
They're up to the PIXMA iP7220 (still under $100) so see if that fits your needs.

HP doesn't seem to ship a disc printing model anymore, sadly. When my nice HP died i replaced it with a Canon MG6300 for about $65 that does an excellent job. It's not high volume, i don't expect to get thousands of discs out of it, but for the occasional odd job it's hard to beat it.

One thing i had to adjust for though is that with the HP, the disc was in the upper left corner of the page. I merely set up any printing software i was using to print on a 5x5" page and the disc was centered in that. With the Canon, the disc is centered in the top middle, so i have to set up for 8.5x5" and center the circle in the 8.5" width.

I use an Epson Artisan 730 for CD printing. it's not the cheapest but it comes with its own printing software making it very easy to design the layout and print it.

I use an Epson Artisan 835 for small quantity DVD printing.

I have been using the Epson printers over the years. The Artisans was a great line up but they are becoming more difficult to find. Recently I purchased the XP-620 and it does a very nice job.

Primera Bravo 4104 here - but more than you need or would be likely to want to spend. Nice doing 100 discs at a time and ten seconds or so per disc....

Ditto on the Artisan, I have a model 720. Single-feed disc, but you can tell it to print 20+ copies, then you just babysit the printer pulling one out and putting the next one in and pushing a button. They have bulk ink attachments that I haven't tried yet, but are available.

Thanks for all the inputs, decided to go with the Epson XP620 at $99. Given that a set of cartridges for the old Primera was about $160, I figure I can't go too far wrong...

Yep, printers are almost a throw away device now. Incredibly cheap these days.

I am on my second Epson 837, the sponges that catch ink during cleaning cycles filled up, and it was cheaper to buy another printer than fix the old one. I got the second one on ebay.

Epson XP-860 arrived and I've printed about 25 discs so far. They've all been grayscale, but the quality is every bit as good as the Primera printer that I had been using. Not as convenient, but very usable.

+1 on the Epson Artisan series.
