Subject:Music Playback & Recording at once

I have a mic that is connected to a sound board that from the output is going into the line in to my computer.

I have an mp3 file on track 1 and have want to record vocals on track 2 but when i hit record the music also records on track 2.

Help

Go to your sound-card control applet and disable "Record what I hear" or similar.
