Introduction media

I am in the process of completing an instructional dvd for a friend of mine who wanted a disclaimer prior to the main menu. I have the disclaimer in place but was wondering if there is a way to set the length of time it will appear on screen before it goes to the main menu. The default time of roughly 4 seconds does not provide adequate time for someone to be able to thoroughly read the disclaimer.

Have you tried to use the Vegas/ MSP text media generator and set the length there and then insert the rendered file as Introduction Media into DVD A?

And I guess you could click Options/Preferences while holding down Ctrl and Shift and see if a "still" default value can be changed in Internal prefs. At your own risk.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it.

Your menu structure with looping allows pre-determined display periods.

I hope OP comes back with a definitive ans -
This is the sort of "feature" that Sony should include as an option, ie prior to the DVD starting to play. Maybe one page for DVDAS and two or more for the Pro version...?
If Sony wants a self-inflicted Bonus, then the page could include "Authoried by DVD Architect" - although this will have language issues.

BTW the same Option would be useful for other media which could pass through DVDAS . . . as I am using Memory sticks ( USB3) as the process is far quicker and I get HD quality on-screen. However, to date I Copy/Paste from the ( m2ts ) Rendered file, so DVDAS only gets a look-in for DVD / BD creation.

Something for Sony to think about.

EDIT:
videoITguy:
Hi.
Please re-read - I did suggest this could be an "Option" -

UkHarrie, TOTALLY disagree with your suggested issue to create automation statements. All of this can be done professionally, as I just explained above. Forget the "chintzy" -authored by kind of language. Ugh!

That's called a pre-roll. Make it the "first play" in the DVDA project and make the "End Action" go to the menu.

You beat me to it Steve. Do the text in Vegas and make it any length you want. Bring it into DVDA, then right click/set as start item.
