Subject:Sony Self Extracting Packager has stopped working

Good day everyone.
Maybe, yeah hopefully, someone can help me.

I've just bought 2 days ago Acid Pro 7 and I tought, just download it, install it, having fun.
Well, the fun stopped very quickly as I cannot even install the AP7.

There is sth wrong with the Sony Self Extracting Packager, that is what an error message says in Windows. Also compatibility mode isn't working.
The only thing that appears, to get admin rights.

Other programs are installing fine. Also others from SCS (like Spectra)

I've already contacted the technical support, but unfortunately no answer :(

Is there any update that I am missing? All my hardware is up-to-date and also Windows updates.

What I've tried:
- Clean Boot
- Registry Clean
- Save mode
- Trowing it through the window (ok... not really :-P )

My Specs:
Win7 64bit, 16GB RAM, what else do you need?

Thanks for your help

I think it has to be installed as admin.

Tried that as well.
Even with another account. Always the same.

from support tab on this website try Live Chat, maybe someone can help yo there, because with email tech suppore or open ticket support, one has to wait even 2 monts before someone answers.

There might be also some windows update that you missing(optional update), i remember in 2007 when i got acid pro7 and i was using windows xp i could not install acid, so from the info error that sony gave me, i searched the internet and windows website and i found an update that had to be installed, and after that the acid installed without a hitch, but sorry i dont remember what update it was, and probably with win 7 and 8 might be somthing similar.

Now I got it:

Good News, I've managed to install the Acid Pro.
After reinstallation of Win7 completely, it hasn't worked yet, so it has nothing to do with this.

Even after trying changing RAM and so on, nothing changed.

As I have overclocked my Computer, I've tried the default settings.
Now it worked...

If someone has this problem, maybe it's this too ;-)

So, to much speed isn't always great :-P

Have a nice day
