Subject:Recording from audio interface OUTPUT channels?

For SF 10 or 11, I can't seem to set up SF Options>Preferences>Audio>Record tab to allow recording from Output channels from my pro audio interfaces, USB (M-Audio) or Firewire (Presonus). Whether using the ASIO or Windows Classic Wave Driver settings for my two devices, only ***Input*** channels routing into the audio interface hardware are listed in SF for recording assignment. I can't choose any output channels to record from even though my devices are 4 In x 8 Out devices. Application: I want to record, via SF, internet audio streams which must be assigned in the Windows audio player apps to device ***outputs***, not inputs. So, how do I record from these device outputs in SF? I could use patch cords to plug the audio device outputs back into inputs but that would compromise quality due to two A/D conversions required..... Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Not a SF function itself. More of a function of your soundcard driver - the "Record what I hear" function that some have. I think ASIO-4-All has such a button. Else VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) is a device driver that turns outputs into 'virtual' inputs.
