This week I started having issues with my software. My sound is cutting in and out and is distorted. Sometimes a track will cut out with an audible pop and/or become a loud hum. I can hear other tracks playing underneath that are either deleted or muted. It is not happening when I play audio on any other software (Windows Media Player, iTunes) or streaming (such as YouTube). I thought my program might be corrupted, so I uninstalled Acid and re-installed it - that made no difference.

Playing back through external amp/speakers ? I'd say you have a broken cable or connector.
