Sorry for the deleted message. I thought I found the answer but I was mistaken, so please allow me to ask again - can I roll back this latest update or download the previous update (before this latest one) as this update has screwed up SF again. In the past, I couldn't open SF without right clicking the icon and running as administrator, but by doing that, I was unable to use all the features of the program, such as drop and drag files into the program. Then they finally came out with an update that fixed that. Now with this newest update, I'm back to having to run as administrator, and unable to drop and drag files! The last version worked fine for me, so instead of fighting with Sony (again) over this issue, I just assume go back to the version that worked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

If you still have the installer you downloaded from the previous revision you can install it again. You will probably have to uninstall the current Sound Forge, as the older version may refuse to replace it. |

You could try reinstalling the former build right over the current one. But as Kelly stated, you may have to uninstall the current Sound Forge. In any case, I would recommend using a third-party uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller[ which can clean the old registry entries. http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html Message last edited on1/31/2015 10:31:15 AM byrraud. |

I recommend using a disk imaging system such asMacrium Reflect Free. If you separate your data from your system then it only takes about seven minutes to back up your system or restore it. Regular system backups are an important security measure and also useful to take a system back to a particular moment in time - like before updating software. I do have Revo Uninstaller but prefer to use an image file as it is basically quicker and more reliable than trying to uninstall a program and then reinstall it especially if you have any customisations to workspaces etc. |

Thanks for the help! I thought I had saved the last update file as I always do, but when I went looking for it last night I couldn't find it, which perplexed me....so I decided to check my backups and found the file "soundforgepro11.0.272.exe." Does anyone happen to know if that is the last update Sony issued for SF11 before this newest one? The last time this happened, it took Sony over a year to issue an update fixing the problem, and that was only after I filed a complaint against Sony with the Better Business Bureau. Back then, in 2013, they told me it was a "known issue" but apparently they had no plans on fixing it until I filed a complaint with the BBB - this time I'm in no mood to go back and forth with them, so if "soundforgepro11.0.272.exe" is the last update, I'll be happy to go back to that version. |

You can download ANY of the versions/builds on the Downloads|Updates page. Always best to uninstall first, even moreso if going 'backwards'. geoff |

Having spent a number of weeks now with SF11, I am finding that my old SF9 is less buggy and has a better workflow for me. I have outstanding, unanswered questions with Sony "support" and they are on a cycle of suggesting that I reset preferences, load the latest drivers, re-load SF, reset preferences, send system info, load the latest drivers, re-load SF... Groundhog day! With the degree of "unusability" I have asked about the process of obtaining a refund as the product isn't suitable for its intended purpose - but that question has been ignored. I am intent on calling the sales department this week and airing my grievance about lack of support! |

soundforgepro11.0.293 is the version prior to the current 299 version. 11.0.272 preceded 11.0.293. Edit: The Release Notes for updates under the Software Updates page usually give the version numbers along with notable fixes/changes for each version under the What's New sub-heading. Geoff, I can only find the current version/build for Sound Forge Pro 11 on the downloads/updates page (Version 11.0, Build 299), although it is quite possible I am missing something. I click the drop down box and it just shows the newest update available in English or Japanese, but no previous builds. I even checked the internet but could only find pirated (previous) versions, which I don't want to mess with. It does make sense that Sony would, or should, have a list of all previous updates available for download, but if they do, I am missing something! lol |

Um yeah - Download|Udates, or via My Software ! Certainly seems to be the case for Forge. Vegas , Acid, etc, offer all old builds of the version. Maybe they decided the previous builds of SFPro11 were so broken they've removed them .... Peter ? geoff |

That also means folks with earlier OS PCs are SOL as well if a reinstall is needed. The last two SF11 builds are for Win 7-8 only. |
