Subject:SL3 - How Does It Work With Music Or Wind Noise?

I was an early purchaser of SL1 lured to buy the program with Sony's impressive video
showing the elimination of a siren in a recording that had someone speaking outdoors - the final result being a recording that didn't harm the desired program material.
I just watched the video example for SL3 and note they're working with
another siren!!! While impressive to eliminate this sound with no damage
to the desired program material, my preference would have been to see how SL3
deals with wind noise suppression or a musical example where one element needs
eliminating or suppressing. If any of you find that SL3 works well with things other than sirens
(preferably musical examples or wind suppression) could you post a link to a before and after
audio example? Since purchasing SL1, I have purchased Waves WNS in addition to iZotope's RX4 Advanced - both of which are very effective noise reducers in certain settings (including music).

Do you mean something different from what they show on the main SL3 page in videos named "Interoperability" where they remove two different types of noise (hum and hiss)?

They're getting there with SL3. Based on SCS' other excellent software introduction versions, I would have rolled out SL3 as their introductory version. I'll download a trial version and see how it works with wind. Thanks for your reply to my post.

I wonder that the issue isn't the Bandwidth of so-called "Wind-Noise" - since it's really a resonance effect modified by the direction/pressure. . . .
Some element of white-noise, I suspect . . .

Indeed it would be interesting to see a SL display of an Action camera performing a 360 degree Selfie - yet ( here ) we see only what the Sony marketing dept. want us to see.

Can't blame them for that!

+Maybe look on YT?

Showing how to get rid a siren vs several examples of solving musical issues isn't great
marketing IMO. If you look at iZotope RX4 and RX4 Ad.vanced - many users
have uploaded lots of useful videos. SL3 will prove to be successful when there are lots of
good videos in addition to lots of posts to this forum. Vegas is extraordinary software - Sony should have used that as a benchmark of usefulness when considering releasing a program like SL. I predict it will be SL5 or 6 that will offer users something to write home about.

Er, possibly, but then pros need the features "NOW" -

What I thought was esp. good in v3 is "Sound sculpturing" ( presume it was not available in v2 ).
One of the Webinars we saw ( heard?) it was possible to remove the music where a singer was being drowned - the result was far-clearer song and you really couldn't notice the music was subdued. This "might" be a useful quickie ( i.e. Macro) so folks can achieve this easily.
Whilst it is relatively easy ( In the Edit ), to drop the Music/Background when there is Speech, it may be more difficult with a Song, since you'd notice the musical accompaniment was suddenly much quieter.
With music-sculpting, the audience won't notice - except that the vocals are crisper.

Does anyone use this feature and con confirm....?
.

<Interoperability:
Did the Tutorial ( thanks for the link, above ), and it's impressive - Except I need SF Pro as well . . . so It's getting rather expensive, with that 64-bit PC requirement to run SL3.
I wonder why some "Basic" FX aren't in SL3:- reverb being an obvious No1 along with Pitch-change and maybe the odd "Microphone" effects - representing limited frequency ranges that you may need....
