NICE.....
Just realized that I can just drag a file (outside of Vegas) directly onto the timeline without opening Project Media or importing it. Saves some steps.
(I'm telling you... I've been using Vegas for years...butyou learn something new everyday. Maybe this will help somebody)
I do the same thing with the page design/layout program i use. I find a picture anywhere on my computer browsing with any program, drag it to the page i'm designing, and it automatically imports.
"I've discovered that you can also use the .IFO file from Vegas' Exporer"
How do you get it to show up? The Video_TS folder appears empty in Vegas 9 to 11 and is absent in 12 and 13.
If I right-click on the DVD in Vegas Explorer, the context menu has an option, "explore current folder". Selecting that opens Windows Explorer, which is where we started.
"Just realized that I can just drag a file (outside of Vegas) directly onto the timeline"
And it's not limited to dragging just ONE file. You can drag as many as you want by selecting multiple files in your file source (usually Windows Explorer).
"This is the way to load a DVD VOB set into Vegas. Drag the main IFO file via Windows Explorer to the timeline."
Keep in mind this technique only works if the main Title of the DVD is physically laid out as the first Title on the DVD in the first VTS. This is usually the case for most DVD's, but I have seen some where this isn't true.
It works fine for me with any title set on the DVD. Whichever one i select is the one that gets imported.

It's quite a coincidence, but I just saw this also, somewhere on the web today. You can copy/cut and paste media from another "INSTANCE" of Vegas pro to the timeline of another instance also!
Yep, drag and drop, copy and paste, its all good. I find it far easier than rooting through the Explorer window inside Vegas. Been doing it this way for quite awhile.
