Subject:Failed Soft Synths

Hi!
Several of the VST instruments I have successfully loaded on my laptop in 64 bit Win7 and used with Acid Pro 7 are not loading on my desktop with the same OS and version of Acid Pro. They are showing up in the FAILED folder when I go to the plugin manager.
Any suggestions what to do/check to get these VSTs to load?
Thanks

The VST in question are legal registered versions of Omnisphere, NI Guitar Rig 3 and Stylus RMX. They all work on my Win7 laptop...thanks

Just for fun, I tried installing a demo of Acid Music Studio 10 and the same thing is happening with the same plugins in AMS10 too.
The only thing I can think of that is different is that on the laptop I installed all of the synths and VST folders on the C: drive. On the desktop, I have all of the programs and synths loaded to an external drive, but I have pointed the Plugin manager to the correct VST folder and it works for all of the other plugins in both Acid Pro 7 and AMS10.

Also, all of the failed plugins in question load properly on the same desktop Win7 64 bit PC in my other DAWS: FLStudio 11 and Cubase Studio 4

The only thing I can think of is to make sure these plugins are 32 bit, as ACID is 32 bit and cannot load 64 bit VST plugins.

Hey Peter - Happy New Year.

Now there's a project to keep you busy until the end of the week - A8(64) ;-)

The thing that's confusing is that the same synths that dont work on the desktop in AP7 work on the laptop. Both PCs are 64 bit and it works fine on one machine with the same OS - 64 bit windows 7 - loading them the same way.
I dunno...Peter, anything I should look at on the desktop that would block it from loading these three legacy synths?

Under VST Configuration, are you sure its looking for the plugins under "Program Files (x86)/Vstplugins" and not under "Program Files/Vstplugins"?

Note: the specific "Vstplugins" folder might actually be called something else depending on what other music software you have installed. What's important is that its located in the 32-bit area under "Program Files (x86)"

Where is ACID pointing to load these plugins from?

If you try a rescan in ACID, do they still fail?

From the plugin manger view, click on the VST configuration button. What are the paths?

If you right click on one of the items in the failed folder, what options are you given?

Peter
