Subject:New computer and Sony DirectX Plugins gone! AMS 10

On my old computer (Windows 7 64 bit), all the Sony DirectX plugins worked great. Now that I have switched to a new computer, the non Express plugins won't show in the Acid Plugin manager window. If I drag them over, I get a registration error message. I have Windows 8.1 now. In the shared folder on my new computer I notice only plugins with a 4/24/14 modified date are showing in Acid. The XFX1-3 pack files are all x64 versions. On the old computer the non x64 and x64 versions installed. Why?

What needs to be done to have access to all the plugins (wave hammer, EQs, Reverb, Vibrato, Time stretch, Pan, Noise Gate, Flange, Chorus, Track Compressor/EQ/Noise, etc.)? I believe the are in the XFX packs 1-3. I downloaded them from the Sony website installed them, but they are not working. I have uninstalled and re-installed the program several times and even changed the compatibility to Windows 7. Many projects are tied up because the FXs are not working.

You don't seem to have gotten a reply? I use Windows 8.1 and I have the same problem with Waves Tune. Acid Pro gives me a registration error message. I bought a licence so it is not freeware. With Waves you get this absurd Licence center, but nothing works!

I thought someone would have replied with a stab at the problem...

Loaded a really old version of acid and now all of the DirectX plugins work. Hope this helps someone else.

I have had the same problem, without even doing anything!! Last month, all the Sony Track Effects were there (including Track Compressor and Track EQ, which I've used on almost every project I've ever done!). But now, suddenly and for no apparent reason (is it a pesky Windows update has broken it??), it says: The plug-in could not be run. One or more components required to run this plug-in may be missing.... The COM object failed to initialize.

The plug-in is there, in the Shared folder, but dragging it into Acid Studio 10 just comes up with an error message: The DirectX Plug-In C:|Program Files (x86)\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio_x64\sftrkfx1.dll failed to register properly (80004005h)

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AMS. The plug-ins work perfectly in Vegas. Why not Acid, all of a sudden?

Doh! I've realised it was "my fault"...

I had run out of space on my C disk, and deleted some old versions of Sony software that I no longer used...

One of those I deleted was Movie Studio in 32-bit, with 32-bit audio effects - which Acid Studio had been accessing. Acid can't use the 64-bit ones I now use on Vegas Pro. So I've re-installed ancient Movie Studio, and all working again!

I might also look for some more up to date effects plug-ins anyway!
