Subject:How do you remove all breathing sounds from a .wav

I know this is likely a rookie question but I have to ask it anyway. I have recorded 2 hours of an audiobook and need to remove my breathing sounds. I would like to do this in one fell swoop. Is there a way to do that? Up until today I had been using Audacity and there is a Noise Removal feature you can use to select a sound of audio you want removed and then apply those changes to however much of your file you want to. This worked great for removing all or most of my breathing sounds from the file. Is there a way to do this with Audio Studio 10?

You could try applying the Noise Gate FX. But may cut out other (wanted) lower level sounds. You will need to experiment adjusting the threshold and release times to optimise.

Waves has a $300 'Debreath' plug-in will allegedly attenuate breath sounds. I'm currently not aware of any others.

Other than that I do it manually with the 'Graphic Fade' volume plug. Tedious however on long form spoken word material.. select-apply, select-repeat. ect., ect.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. $300 is a bit steep. I think I will record in Audacity and make the unilateral noise removal there and then export to wave. Do all the minute editing in Audio Studio.

Again, thanks for your help on this.

Is recording and de-noising it in Audacity somehow better than in SF ?

You cannot remove all breathing sounds.
Use a good breath/pop filter and correct mic technique.

Sorry I'm so late to the party with this question. To lose breaths, I often use the Fade In and Fade Out feature on SF. Enlarge your Waveform and play around with both Fade features. You'll get the hang of it. I can almost always eliminate a breath this way.
