"Missing" files on external USB drive

I have a project with two dozen files in the Project Media bin that I am moving back and forth between two PCs with VP11. When the project loads on PC1, no problem finding and loading all external files. When the project loads on PC2, it says it can't find about 4 of the files, But when I search for the 'misssing' files, they are right where they have always been. What can I do to resolve this minor issue?

Take the time to move the files to a local hard drive on each machine before editing. Then copy the changes back to the USB drive for transport back to the other machine. I know that's tedious.

Well, it is less tedious to search and 'find' the 'missing' files than copy gigabytes of video back and forth between machines.

I will try and take the time to put all the videos from the various directories and put them under one directory and see if that helps.

Vegasaur has a function called Archive project that will move the project media and file to a new location. I never had an issue opening it on another system.
