hey. i just got sound forge studio XP 5....... i was wondering if it is possible to have one track playing while i record over top of it. cause i have a rythum guitar track already made, and i want to add some lead guitar over top of it. i know it is possible to do this with acid pro but it is giving me some problems right now so... i got sound forge. any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks. |

Sound Forge is a single track program. Sorry. If you had the full Sound Forge (intead of just XP), you could run two copies of it at a time, play your previous recording in one, set your sound card to record what you hear (mixed output), and record that and your new signal in the other copy of Sound Forge. It would be kinda like bouncing tracks in the old sound-on-sound days. Unfortunately XP won't let you have to copies open at once. If you downloaded the Vegas Audio LE that comes with ACID, then you can use that as a full multitrack recorder. |
